Despite the nerdy fun of "Stranger Things," its...over-all pluckiness, the show reveals how the kids-save-the-day model represents a romantic but ultimately uneven idealism that has echoes in our current political moment.

It's a real and joyful return to form for the show that has been taken fiercely to the hearts of people who weren't there the first time round and, perhaps even more fiercely, by those who were.

All the familiar beats of the episode don't mean this season is predictable, for us or for its characters.

What these ideas come down to, in the show's thrillingly propulsive and self-consciously familiar conclusion, is the nature of a country that fully believes it's the greatest in the world while also being well aware of its own capacity for destruction.

A third (season) might have been pushing it but, hey, it worked too, and it ended in such a way that it would be a bummer if Stranger Things didn't return.

[Stranger Things] is an exhilarating example of a franchise hitting new heights that Hollywood would do well to learn from.

I was kind of ready for it to wrap up, even though it was a shortened season. I wasn't fully invested all the way through...but the tone is much lighter, and they ramped up the comedy in season three while keeping those heavy moments.

Stranger Things still goes down very easily and it's a lot of fun just to play around in this universe.

A glorious rollercoaster of a story with sharp, well-written characters that takes itself seriously enough to let you fully invest in their journey but has no problem with poking fun at itself either.

It might not do anything particularly fresh for the series, but the third season of Stranger Things will entertain you, make you smile, break your heart, and leave you looking forward to the next instalment.

Lucas' sister, Erica Sinclair, steals the show with her sass and there were just enough twists to keep me invested till the next season, but the writers will need to dig deeper.

Not perfect and somewhat predictable, Stranger Things, Season 3 still entertains, but should have an older audience. You can count me in for some Scoops Ahoy costumes, though.

The 80s references are a bit more heavy-handed than in previous seasons, but Stranger Things 3 still delivers on the adventure, fun, and nostalgia promised by its predecessors.

There are parts of the segmented story that work better than others but over the course of the season, Stranger Things proves itself to be one of the most enjoyable, well-thought out shows across the vast TV landscape.

Some of the episodes seem too filled with filler but the final one makes it all worthwhile. These characters have grown on us so we will give them leeway in just being themselves for a while.

While this season left us with some plot holes, pacing issues and unnecessarily gut-wrenching blows, Stranger Things 3 continues to nail not only the essence of the '80s, but so many aspects of childhood.

The biggest problem is that Stranger Things has lost its edge, mystery and intrigue. [Full review in Spanish]

Instead of reminding us of what we have lost, the show gets caught up in the kind of patriotic fantasies that adults love so much, things like romance and defeating communism in a mall with fireworks on the fourth of July.

Season 3 reminds us why we love this show, and it's not just the nostalgia, it's the characters. There's plenty of the past two seasons worked in, but there's also a refreshing dose of Summer Fun and the complexities of being young.
