Critic reviews for Chloramphenicol
Fans of FX's terrific espionage thriller, The Americans were shocked Wednesday night as a slow-paced episode ended in a deadly twist.
She had imagined forgiveness and freedom and plane tickets and America. Instead, she is dead, carried away so hastily that only a small puddle of blood could seep out of her head onto the floor.
The blood from her skull pools on the floor just a few feet away, like the last traces of a beautiful dream that, by the time you wake up, you've already begun to forget.
A legacy - a future - is becoming more and more pressing for Elizabeth, making her choice not to kill Pastor Tim nor to flee from the Centre all the more telling. This is a defining moment for Elizabeth.
The ending of "Chloramphenicol" is like a giant weight hanging over everything else. This, too, shall come to everybody on the show.
