Just some mannerly Spanish teens - not as bright as those philosophy-studying Catalans on "Merli" or as sex-crazed as the "barely-legals) of "Elite" - it's very easy to grow fond of these kids who've been placed in a seemingly haunted reform school run by a headmistress from hell whose ideas about discipline would have her locked up for centuries in the U.S. With an intricate plot involving monks, cults and scientists run-amuck, the confusing plot and slow pace may be too much for some viewers, but thanks in large part to the innocent kids and Daniel Sanchez de la Hera's haunting music, I found the the series hypnotic. The finale for Season 2 wraps up a lot a lot if not all loose ends, but I really hope Netflix has a third season in the can that gives some of The Boarding School's many villains their just desserts.
