The story made no sense at all they build stuff up the alien element which went nowhere really! It was great to see so many actors that have not been seen in a while showing why they are so good. Now we just need Netflix to bring it back for season 2. See more Hughe J @Hughe Sep 26, 2026 The Boroughs was released on streaming in 2026 and stars Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodward, Denis O'Hare, Geena Davis, and Bill Pullman for basically one episode. It should be noted that the Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things) are the executive producers of the show and it's quite apparent watching the first, and only, season. The Boroughs is a retirement community in New Mexico where mysterious deaths are happening but somehow the police are never involved. The show promotes drug use, alternate life styles, open marriages, and senior orgies; so not for kids. For me this felt like an adult Stranger Things meets Cocoon and not in a good way. Anyway the senior Goonies eventually discover alien creatures are sucking the old people dry to feed their mommy who in turn is getting sucked dry by the employees of The Boroughs because her blood is the fountain of youth. The plot is silly, the acting across the board is terrible, the production values were poor, and there's way too much talking. Nothing especially depraved, aside from the now-casual normalization of cannabis use and a gerontophilic relationship.
