Tv Season Info

The even more intense, more insane Season 2 finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation's paranoia.

It's not your typical superhero fare.

The second season, much like life in these United States, is structured around a leadership vacuum, and it's an enormous improvement.

"The Boys" is still an imperfect beast, but it gets so many parts right - I haven't even talked about the skilled stunt work or expertly staged action scenes - that you're likely to get caught up in its gorging satire.

Season two proves that if the series is going to be so bloated and only sporadically punchy, it's never going to be as powerful as it thinks it is.

A wonderfully subversive, cynically entertaining piece of work.

Sep 2, 2020 | Full Review…

Highly entertaining but grossly flawed, The Boys envisions itself as the bad boy of superhero stories. To a degree, it is. But let's not act as if it's the long-awaited mash-up of Shakespeare and Stan Lee.

On top of having plenty of allegorical weight, The Boys is also tremendously entertaining, roaring along from one complicated caper to the next on the force of three terrific lead performances.

Every episode of season 2 carefully crafts a soulfully haunting story that is emotionally riveting, thrilling, and gets you right in the feels.

It's easy to recommend the second season of The Boys, an update of Don Quixote with the same spirit. [Full Review in Spanish]

[T]he real success in the work done by showrunner extraordinaire Eric Kripke and his team of writers, actors, and crew. Together, they've taken The Boys to new territory in ways that are even grittier and more heartwrenching than last year.

The Boys Season 2 continues its excellent form of balancing its comedy, over-the-top violence, and character development into a cohesive force of awesomeness.

Overall there were some niggles that bring it down from a 5, but still worth checking out so long as you have a strong stomach and a dark sense of humour!

It's the boys, anything lower than a five is a sin. Consider this a heads up.

Season 2 puts aside the superhero genre satire to focus more strongly on hard hitting cultural satire that is both compelling and entertaining as hell. The Boys is easily one of the best shows on television, very few characters on screen that aren't complex and exciting as everything else this show offers.

One of my favourite seasons of television. It exceeded my expectations from the first season. Even more crazier and exciting. Every episode was great. Subverted my expectations in every episode. The writing and directing are great by all involved. The acting is superb by the whole cast. Stormfront was a great addition to the show played by Aya Cash. The action was great in this season. It was great watching Homelanders's arc in this season Antony Starr was incredible once again. Every character's development was great in this season. The Deeps downfall in the show brings a lot of laughs. A great finale to the season.I'm really excited to see where the show goes from here.

If you loved the first season, you'll love this season, too. Unless you're a nazi, because this season makes fun of nazis. I liked the new character Stormfront, I thought she had great chemistry with Homelander, I liked seeing them interact with each other. I'm also glad Queen Maeve got a bit more screen time. I feel like she was underused in season 1. Hopefully we get to see even more of her in season 3. Speaking of season 3, I'm really looking forward to see what happens next. I love this show, it's very edgy (in a good way). And I also hate the weekly release model. Binge-watching is the superior form of media consumption, so I waited and I binge-watched it in two days.

One of my favourite series of any show, funny moments, gory moments, sad moments. Pure TV at its best.
  • Jan 05, 2021
Must see without a doubt. Even better than the first one.
  • Jan 04, 2021
Crazy awesome. Got better every episode.
  • Jan 03, 2021
Great series - Butcher is so funny.
  • Jan 02, 2021
Great fun to watch. Crazy comic style show. Never know what is gonna happen but that makes it fun to watch each episode. The adult side of it is a fun twist on comic/graphic novel types of movies /shows. Definitely recommend
