It's an interesting approach to telling the story of the New Testament, and one that relies on a lot of creative license. Go to Full Review

[Dallas] Jenkins' passion and belief is admirable, both in his ability to skewer a narrative that seems so structured and in his determination to have that narrative be heard. Go to Full Review

The Chosen is one of the most engaging Bible-inspired productions I've seen. Surprisingly funny and relatable, we continue watching episode after episode not because we feel obligated to support it as a dutiful Christians, but because it's compelling. Go to Full Review

Johann D. M @Johann33 Apr 29 DETAILED AND AUTHENTIC! A breathtaking and refreshingly human portrayal of the life of Christ, the series stands out for its sense of authenticity and care. It feels like a large-scale undertaking unlike anything seen before in biblical storytelling. Its greatest strength lies in its deep focus on character development, giving each disciple a backstory and emotional weight rarely explored in previous adaptations. Jesus teachings are given the space to breathe and resonate, brought to life by Jonathan Roumie, whose warm and charismatic performance could easily become a defining portrayal for years to come. Each episode feels cinematic and emotionally rich, blending intimacy with grandeur. The costumes and set design are impressively detailed, reflecting extensive research and adding to the immersion. The series also shines in its commitment to representation, with strong ethnic diversity and the thoughtful inclusion of neurodivergent actors. It's history along with the Word, explains why Jesus had conflict with his own Jews, what really mattered and matters, and is all done with amazing quality and gripping delivery and production quality, hits on every single level. Can't recommend it more strongly enough. Our family had great entertainment, and we so appreciate what the showrunners have done for our lives. The character development of the apostles and all of the dialogue that has had gives you a much better understanding of what you’re reading in the Bible. Wow there’s some things that are probably not true. It does not take away from How realistic and epic this show is. I really feel like I am thereduring these times as it can get very emotional. See more katelin b @mememimimeow Sep 22 Well, when the characters speak and act as modern people from the XXIe century, it's hard to feel concerned by the few historical events.. not even speaking about the religious events.
