Though The Doll‘s exploration of social class drama and prickly heroines isn’t new or even noteworthy, it’s a well-made series, nonetheless. Go to Full Review

The Doll holds some promise that it’ll have a lot more for viewers than the standard boddice-ripping period dramas have had of late. But it certainly takes the show’s writers a long time to get to something interesting. Go to Full Review

Mo P @Mopal Oct 14, 2026 I finished this series only because of the excellent acting and some touching scenes. But the story was so hard to follow. I thought it would eventually come together. Some of it did but it was too much work trying to understand what was going on too much of the time unfortunately. See more Patricia P @RT27265427 Oct 13, 2026 SPOILER ALERT: I like period dramas. This one held my interest for 6 episodes, but it was very confusing. Figuring out how the characters were related to each other, or knew each other, took a while. Understanding why a character (Florentyna) went berzerk in one episode took a Google search for me to comprehend. The story was choppy. Scenes didn't flow into each other. I still don't understand why that police chief was writing a suicide note for six episodes. No Google search could find me an answer. His assistant kept saying the chief had nothing to do, so why couldn't he help him (the assistant) out? The chief said something like, "Just wait. Everything sorts itself out eventually." Then, he eventually took action. There were so many things that weren't clear: why was there a bunch of mismatched machinery on the barge? Was that older woman who was sleeping with the evil cousin actually interested in the Stanislaw? And the actors took FOREVER to utter replies to questions. See more Leigh-Anne T @RT07479190 Oct 1, 2026 Absolutely exquisite. A masterclass in acting. Simply wonderful to watch! See more Wilku 1 @RT68726275 Sep 30, 2026 It has name of the classic poem and thats all pros. Rest of that "seires" is just spitting in face of book author. See more Amy S @RT24842518 Sep 29, 2026 The plot and characters are complex. At first the characters seem predictable, one dimensional, but as the narrative unfolds, they become fully fleshed out, rounded and interesting individuals. This limited series grapples with questions of class and privilege along with female emancipation. It is thought provoking and boasts a powerful acting cast. I will think about the dialogue for quite awhile. This is no frilly Bridgerton. See more D J @Djohns Sep 26, 2026 We really enjoyed this 6 episode series. Great characters, fast paced, intriguing plot, well acted, beautiful costumes. The English dubbing was good. See more Read all reviews
