A widowed mother and her five kids form a band and make a hit record, then travel around the country in a groovy school bus. The comedy contrasts life on the road with the cozy suburban life they return to after the show is over. There's feel-good music, hapless adults, scheming kids and heartthrob teens thrown in for good measure.

The series has everything for family appeal: five kids, a dog, freckles, hair, big eyes and pimples. Friday night babysitters will love it. Go to Full Review

Stephen C @bob25009 Nov 12 25 funny American Broadcasting Company episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Mike P @RT77437476 07/28/2023 Fun sitcom; a fictionalized version of the Cowsills... (Cows=partridges....Get it?!). This was actually going to originally be called The Cowsills; but Shirley Jones was going to star as Connie Cowsill; and when they heard this they bailed... What they came up with as a backup plan isn't bad at all; with a super talented David Cassidy at the helm; and super funny Danny Bonaduce and Dave Madden as the Laurel and Hardy comic relief. They should have made the band look more realistic though. I mean the Cowsills WERE a family like this; with a bunch of teenagers; a little girl playing tambourine and a little boy drummer; and the mom bopped around in the background-- and they were awesome! They were one of the top acts of the late 60s: with "Hair" being their big hit single smash of 1969 which climbed to to the top of the Billboard charts. So when critics scoffed that the Partridge Family was unrealistic; I laugh! Because not only is it realistic....it's REAL! It Happened! Watch the old YouTube videos; you can see for yourself! Ironically; the Cowsills still perform; and often Shirley Jones introduces them... And often they play "I Think I Love You" as part of their normal song set now! If that doesn't just beat all!... Question though: why weren't The Cowsills ever on The Partridge Family?!! Opportunity missed! Anyway; this is a fun, nostalgic show anyway. See more Read all reviews
