[A] laughable, thoroughly unentertaining mess of a premiere.

They also have finally, in the most stomach churning, emotional way, ratcheted up the brutality of the TV series to match the brutality of the graphic novel which inspired the show.

Season 7 is its most powerful yet as unforgettable moments will be ingrained in fans minds for years to come and the aftermath of the season's events will be felt for years.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Negan embodied everything I love in a villain.

If AMC wants The Walking Dead to last for years to come, as its producers say, it needs to kill Negan, and quickly. And it needs to learn from the mistakes it made during his seemingly endless tenure on the series.

The most devastating episode in the history of The Walking Dead also vaults the show forward with more momentum than ever before.
