Spider-Man, whose real name is Peter Parker when not fighting crime, is an iconic comic book character that has been featured in a number of feature films and TV shows through the years. In "Ultimate Spider-Man," Peter Parker is a teenager trying to juggle the usual growing pains of high-school life with the not-so-usual growing pains of being a superhero. Peter is invited to train with Nick Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, where his masked alter ego joins forces with four other teenage superheroes -- Nova, White Tiger, Power Man and Iron Fist -- as they work to become Ultimate Superheroes.

There's potential for a great Spider-Man cartoon in this show, but the creators seem content with "fine" rather than "excellent." Go to Full Review

There's a surprising lack of depth to a show with a creative roster this good. Go to Full Review

There's a lot to like about the show though, and the third season gave fans an awesome storyline involving Donald Glover taking on the role of Miles Morales. Go to Full Review

Totally different than anything that came before it, Disney's Ultimate Spider-Man is like a cross between Family Guy, Deadpool, and the movies of the MCU. Go to Full Review

But considering the dream team of writers Marvel assembled for this project... it's often frustrating that Ultimate Spider-Man isn't a stronger, more cohesive, and more dramatically ambitious show. Go to Full Review

Bryce @That_guyBryce Aug 29 I would say this is a pretty good foundation for this show although a lot of the time it feels like it leans way too much into comedy which isn’t always needed but still good either way See more Marco L @decatur555 Jul 1 (CASTELLANO) Esta versión animada de Ultimate Spider-Man apunta claramente a un público más joven, con capítulos repletos de humor simple, bromas constantes y un tono que recuerda más a una sitcom que a una serie de acción superheroica. (ENGLISH) This animated version of Ultimate Spider-Man is clearly aimed at a younger audience, with episodes packed with simple humor, constant jokes, and a tone that feels more like a sitcom than a superhero action series. It's fast-paced and visually flashy, but if you’re looking for a serious, grounded Marvel story, you won’t find it here. The teenage energy dominates every scene, with a Peter Parker who keeps breaking the fourth wall and side characters that feel more like comic relief than real teammates. Worst of all, it wastes a strong roster — including Nova, White Tiger, and Iron Fist — by drowning them in a gag-heavy format that often feels childish. Aunt May is reimagined as a modern working woman, Nick Fury plays school counselor, and the high school is practically the new S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ. There are some fun nods for Marvel fans, but overall, it feels more like a parody than a real Spider-Man story. He deserves better. See more sufyan 09/03/2024 Honestly this cartoon just killed spiderman I don’t know if it was just bad luck or a curse from Disney either way this show was just poor. It lacked everything that made spiderman. See more NcMor 06/06/2023 This is NOT Ultimate Spider-Man, this is Spider-Man and Friends. The series is clearly targeted for kids, but the over use of quips and chibby spider-man is so over done. Does not follow the Ultimate Comics. See more 02/01/2022 it's a gigantic new world of spider man, unfortunately people don't accept the new series, as much as peter's jokes are childish until in some ways they are funny, I think it's extremely important for spider man to have a new team and also to be coached by nick fury, because he has to mature as a character, but boring fans always want peter to be the same age, the same personality, the same friends, but luckily things change See more Read all reviews
