Bad policing, perhaps, but the perfect ending. Go to Full Review

Unforgotten is so much more than a satisfying murder mystery, though. It is such a human show. Go to Full Review

To gauge what people deserve you need empathy; that ability to see things from someone else's perspective, however flawed, is what Unforgotten excels at. Go to Full Review

Chris Lang's thoughtful thriller is so much more than a murder-of-the-week. Go to Full Review

A finale that lived up to all that had gone before. Even if his plot did owe a none-too-subtle debt to Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train. Go to Full Review

Immaculate, neatly drawing the many strands of the story together, while also pondering the difference between morality and law. Go to Full Review

shonapk s Mar 24 Excellent production, however too many loose ends. Who killed who, how did they get killed. How did one of them end up on the yacht. How did the Lawyer manage to hang the Professor, Pretty sure one of the women couldn’t have managed it. Couldn’t the Forensic guys pick that it wasnt a suicide. See more Deniz Elaine O Mar 21 Season two of “Unforgotten” is almost an admission by the writers that this case was unsolvable, which is understandable given that most of the characters are synthetic outcrops of the emptiness called blind ambition. Although they are suspended in strong positions, they are prone to the same abuses that plagued previous layers. // DCI Tessa Nixon of the Halebridge Road Police lost her first husband David Walker twenty-six years earlier when she reported him missing on May 10, 1990 two days after he disappeared. Her delay she explains: “He worked in the leisure industry.” David’s remains have been dredged out of the River Lea in the opening scenes, but the body inside the suitcase is not identified until Sunny examines a watch guild’s accounts book positively identifying his Blanchard timepiece around the time in question. David’s history of abuse is later attributed to a Firdown school in the 1950s (more adequately covered by Midsomer Murders). // Watches are integral to Tessa’s order as her second husband Paul Nixon wears a similar wristband. Paul feels as though Tessa’s grief for David Ewan Walker is too acutely felt for a woman who lost her husband twenty-six years ago. Paul is more familiar with Tessa’s composure, so he reverses their relationship by asking her if there’s anything she’d like to tell him. David’s taste for underage prostitutes isn’t a topic DCI Tessa Nixon can disclose to her husband as revealed in a flashback of an underage Sara Alazi’s bloodied lip. She can’t break free of her workplace role at home, which leads to her son Jason’s meltdown as well. Has Jason been in the stage of denial far too long? // As the past begins to unravel, Marion Kelsey acutely feels anxiety at the Borough Market and calls her husband Tony Kelsey to collect her. Marion has more in common with David Walker than does Jason. She has rebelled in her youth by associating with the IRA even asking her roommate Sinead Mary Quinn to murder her father, Mr. Dunphy. Marion’s denial of the past doesn’t fool Cassie in their initial interview at the hospital where Marion works as an oncology nurse. Marion is the only one who could have murdered David Walker in 1990, as both Sara Alazi and Colin Osborne were sectioned in a psychiatric unit during the week of his murder. Did she unintentionally murder her biological father? // Is Harry Osborne, Colin Osborne’s father, who lives in Glasgow, really David Walker? In Glasgow, Harry admits to the team that Colin’s emptiness began when he was a boy and coincided with his time in the local Ranger Scouts run by a man named Len Paxton. Len Paxton is presumed to have drowned in Greenock Harbor after his yacht was found drifting with no one aboard in 1992. Is it possible that Sara Alazi did not murder Len Paxton as agreed upon by the covenant among Sara, Colin, and Marion? Why? // Colin’s focus is on his adoption of Flo, but he has jeopardized everything by paying off a blackmailer named Tyler, who initially asks for £ 5,000 before his partner, who is later revealed in the credits to be Flo’s mother, asks for £ 20,000. Does Colin know Flo’s mother is blackmailing him? What does his partner Simon mean when he says, “Flo had ballet. You were meant to pick her up”? Simon reassures Colin that Freya’s mom has brought her home safely, but Freya works in Cassie’s department doesn’t she? Under Fran Lingley’s work email there is a Freya Heeley and a Leon Gorka. // Why did Sara Mahmoud say, “It’s over,” after Cassie arrives at the pub presumably to arrest them over the murders? It would just be beginning for them at that point. Did Sara die at the pub? Why? Bc she hadn’t murdered anyone? Sara’s blind ambition is forgiven by her husband Hassan Mahmoud, who blames the practice of underage prostitution, instead of its victims. Both the Kelseys and the Mahmouds reconcile, but Colin is quite broken by the end, so much so, that Cassie forgives them their crimes. Their ambitions are no longer blind. See more Mike K @Mike63 Feb 17 Should be forgotten. Morbid. Good depiction of why police should be defunded. Ego driven cop using lots of taxpayer money to feed the need to win, regardless the cost and damage... for nothing. Not good entertainment. The news is bad enough. Waste of talent. See more Gary K 02/03/2025 If anything this is better than the first series which was excellent. The main characters draw you in and the acting is first class. Unfortunately it loses a star, and should probably lose more, for writing yet another copy of "strangers on a train". I am sick and tired of this plot line - and of course being able to guess it because it's been done 10,000 times. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the acting, the way the series was put together, the pacing and script, so I still rate it highly. See more Marci O 03/05/2024 Incredible story line with acting perfection! You were definitely hoping throughout the season that they wouldn’t find the proof they needed to convict. This season really delved into what abuse victims deal with even many years after the incidents. Definitely worth your time to check out this show and this season. So good!! See more Tom S @Acewrite13 10/24/2022 Whoa. I feel wrung out after watching that. Not light entertainment, but top-drawer, if harrowing, stuff. See more Read all reviews
