Ultimately, the program is reasonably good fun for X-Men aficionados, but the reliance on past movie and comic references... blunts the appeal, as does the occasionally stiff animation quality. Go to Full Review

Blame whatever you like- the blatant Wolverine pandering, the departure from tradition- but the interest just wasn't enough to continue the story. Go to Full Review

The question heading into the third part of the season finale remained whether they'd be able to pull it all together in an entertaining way that still felt logical. As it turns out, the answer is mostly yes. Go to Full Review
James Hunt Den of Geek 02/19/2019
Where the series really succeeds is in its wide use of characters major and minor, all pulled from the comics. Go to Full Review

Though aimed at kids, Wolverine and the X-Men has enough depth to appeal to older fans of the popular Marvel Comics franchise as well. Go to Full Review

paytonthompson20 09/08/2024 this tv show grabbed my attention and held it from episode 1 through episode 26-just skip episode 20 breakdown. they do a great job of bringing in random characters to continue the storyline and giving them a good reason not to just stay with the team. there are a number of fun little plot twists and even at the final episode you dont know how they are going to pull it off. its too bad that they didnt continue for another season. See more Jacob B 11/04/2023 A pretty good Marvel cartoon that, given how Kevin Feige is an executive producer on this show, also gives us an idea at what the X-Men might be like in the MCU. True, Wolverine and the X-Men isn't perfect with the titular character hogging the spotlight, elements that feel like they're being done with the audience who saw the movies in mind* (e.g. the attempts at shipping Kitty Pryde and Iceman does bring to mind The Last Stand's love triangle) and the characterisations aren't particularly complex but this is by no means a bad superhero cartoon. The animation's good, the character designs are appealing (I really liked Rogue's design here), the overarching story is compelling and the action's enjoyable. Had this series been renewed for a second season, I could see room for growth and acknowledging certain criticisms but overall, Wolverine and the X-Men is a solid show that just happened to have the misfortune of being stuck in the shadow of the beloved '90s cartoon and the well-received Evolution...and that's without taking into account how by the time it was released, it found itself playing second fiddle to the movies. Why isn't this show on Disney+ anyway? *Do not worry, dear readers. Unlike some later Marvel cartoons, this is not a cynical advertisement for the films disguised as a TV show that just so happens to take similar cues...though we did have two half-hour productions focusing on Wolverine and the Hulk in 2009...they even tried to claim one of them was canon with this show despite not really meshing well with continuity. See more julian p 04/04/2023 I'm gonna be fully honest with everyone else this is one of the greatest Marvel shows I have ever watched I love Wolverine he's been my favorite X-Men character since IDK I forgot. Literally nothing about this show is bad its all perfect because it has perfect characters, voice acting, animation, action, writing, ending, adventure, villains, story, and mystery especially towards the end you'll always wonder what happens next so this is literally a perfect show and I recommend for anyone to watch.
