  • Has Jewish ancestry on his father's side. One of his earliest TV memories is of watching Moonlighting with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Served in the army between 1996 and 1997 in Germany. Worked as a fact-checker for Mademoiselle magazine and as a security guard before turning to acting. Trained at the Acting Studio in New York City. Played Stanley Kowalski in the Kennedy Center's production of A Streetcar Named Desire, opposite Patricia Clarkson in 2004. Played the role of Lord Darlington in a 2005 production of Lady Windermere's Fan at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts in 2005. Met his girlfriend Charlene McKenna on the set of Ripper Street. Dropped out of Wicked City in 2015 after Ripper Street was renewed for a fourth and fifth series. Is a compulsive buyer of fridge magnets and has a large collection at home. Used to be a keen hiker and has walked the Appalachian Trail from New York to Georgia.
