With rugged good looks and magnetic screen presence, it makes sense that Aussie Daniel MacPherson has earned a living both as an actor and TV host. But MacPherson's whole career was a happy accident: Discovered by a casting director during a triathlon, he signed on to play triathlete Joel Samuels on the Australian soap opera "Neighbours"--in a role written specifically for him. This four-year stint was followed by tenures on the gritty police procedurals "The Bill" and "City Homicide," but MacPherson found even bigger fame hosting the Australian versions of talent shows "The X-Factor" and "Dancing with the Stars."
