David Newman

Highest Rated: 91% Bonnie and Clyde (1967)

Lowest Rated: 11% Sheena (1984)

Birthday: Feb 4, 1937

Birthplace: New York, New York, USA

A former magazine editor Newman wrote some fine screenplays in collaboration with director Robert Benton, including "Bonnie and Clyde" (1967), "What's Up, Doc?" (also with Buck Henry) and "Still of the Night" (1982). Newman's best known work includes the "Superman" trilogy (written in part with his wife, Leslie), the first of which, at least, displayed a degree of ironic humor. He also wrote Michael Jackson's popular music video, "Moonwalker" (in which not the faintest trace of irony has, to date, been detected.)
