Critic Reviews for Hotel
Uniformly strong performances, scripting and direction make for good pacing.
Hotel is colorful and crafty. It is entertaining without being at all profound. Now if only Greta Garbo had shown up, we might have had a grand reunion in New Orleans.
The Arthur Hailey novel was vastly improved upon by the film, which was a cut above average, but no more.
There are good performances from actors who know their trade and work at it, lively direction and a good enough story to keep audiences occupied.
a gratifying film to watch on a rainy day. If you don't have any high expectations you'll be pleasantly surprised. It has it's flaws. It's terribly old-fashioned but that's what I liked about it.
Audience Reviews for Hotel
Glitzy and overdone with too many plotlines but still enjoyable in a soap operaish way. Good cast do what they can with unchallenging roles, Merle Oberon is decked out in some great outfits and gravity defying hair! And any hotel lucky enough to have Carmen McRae as their lounge singer is some place worth checking in to.
