The issue with Oscar is the adoption of Magnier's French humor, an ambiance that doesn't correspond well. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Despite all the running around, the movie still feels slow, dragging sluggishly toward the end of its long 109 minutes. Go to Full Review

When you're looking to remake French cinema, the name 'Stallone' leaps immediately to mind. As in, 'for God's sake, don't cast Sylvester Stallone!' Go to Full Review

Jason H @RT50328122 2d A very funny "screwball" comedy. Standout performances by Marisa Tomei, Tim Curry and Chazz Palminteri. See more Mrs R @MrsRusch Jun 16 Best movie of all time! I truly love this movie! I saw it when it first came out. For some reason this is listed as 1991 but it came out around 1988. This is the best portrayal of the old-fashioned, farse plays of the 1920's & 1930's. They use all the silly, dumb jokes, sprinkled in with more modern puns and tongue-in-cheek references (like Little Anthony & 'his' Imperial). I know all the critics panned this movie when it came out. They mocked Stallone for it, but I really don't understand why. It's fantastic! Silly, funny, pure comedy the way comedy used to be. See more Justin W. @Justin217 Jun 10 It was a solid comedy mob film. Some parts of the plot are confusing, but towards the end it all gets answered, which makes it a cult classic for its own tone. See more Eli H @EliHendricks May 14 This is one of those movies that got a bad wrap from critics. They accused it of being slow, which doesn't make sense because the movie basically never stops. There are very few moments where the dialogue slows down, while I agree that the strength of the movie is in its supporting cast, which includes Chazz Palminteri, Marisa Tomei, Tim Curry, and a brief but hysterical cameo from Kirk Douglas, Stallone carries his own. Stallone's put upon mobster trying to go straight reactions are endlessly funny. Particularly the scene in the "atrium". This is actually a worthwhile film and one you should take a second to watch. See more Anthony A @RT74983657 May 13 Why don’t more people know about this movie? It’s hilarious. It’s so campy, in the most endearing way. Besides the first two Rocky movies, it might be Stallone’s best role. Marisa Tomei and Tim Curry are so spot on. It’s just a fun movie, and great for slightly older kids, too. If you want a fun easy laugh-out-loud movie, this is it. See more Chris S @TheRaven8386 Feb 2 I think this is an example of how your average movie watcher knows more than professional critics. This movie is hilarious with a unique style of humor. It was one of my favorite movies as a teenager. See more Read all reviews
