A stunning depiction of an incredible novel with a lazy ending compared to the original. However, this Hollywood ending doesn't do so much damage to a movie that is otherwise a great collector's item.
How hard do We have to push for justice?
A compelling story about vengeance and suffering leads the many great aspects of this criminally underrated 2002 movie. The Count of Monte Cristo is very passionate with how it tells its tale and how it guides its characters and their journeys.
Excelente filme.
A huge fan of the novel, this movie lives up to my expectations. It's wonderful.
Fun action film that may have changed too much of the book.
Touches the heart strings with love, hate, sadness and sweet revenge!! The anticipation of each emotion isn't drawn out and satisfied in the perfect passing of time!! Jim Caviezel is unequalled in past interpretations of Edmond Dantes! His soul is seen without blemish on his face every time he spoke! I enjoyed it completely!
A quality interpretation of a romantic period masterpiece. Alexander Dumas would be proud of this bold effort at mirroring a historic masterpiece. The movie portrays The Count Of Monte Cristo not so much as a story of the cathartic nature of revenge but of the freedom which comes only from true redemption.
This drama based on a best selling novel was really good. Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce, Richard Harris, Luis Guzman, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. The plot to the movie was suspenseful and dramatic. It's one of the best revenge movies ever made. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. You'll enjoy it.
