Critic Reviews for Air
If an apocalypse ever does occur, one hopes that whatever survivors are left will have better material to draw from when they make the inevitable films about it.
Its middling plot twists and atmospherics fail to ratchet up as much tension as Edo Van Breeman's score tries to evoke.
Writer-director Christian Cantamessa and co-writer Chris Pasetto aim for a Danny Boyle-Alex Garland-style psychological thriller like 2007's "Sunshine," but they don't adequately account for all of the mood swings.
Once an idea is introduced, it's tossed aside, unexplored; though there's plenty of talk, this isn't exactly a sci-fi "My Dinner With Andre." Tense music substitutes for genuine tension.
Audience Reviews for Air
I didn't hate it and I didn't love it, just an indie film that attempts to explore an interesting concept with actually exploring. The characteristics were a little messy and we deserved a strong relationship with the 2 main actors but that is overlooked. Didn't expect to find much here but I wasn't bored as expected.
