The opening 20 minutes or so play like nothing more than a widescreen Carnival Cruise commercial, everything so glossy and superficial you can almost feel the spray tan ooze down your arm.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked is the third installment of the franchise and honestly feels a bit rough around the edges. It isn’t a terrible film, but it doesn’t reach the energy or charm of the earlier entries. The story keeps kids entertained with the island setting, chaotic antics, and musical moments, but as a full movie experience, it feels thin, inconsistent, and largely forgettable. The screenplay lacks depth, and many of the jokes, especially those aimed at Theodore’s weight, cross the line from playful to mean-spirited, making some scenes uncomfortable rather than funny. Role-switching and character shifts are interesting but underdeveloped, adding little emotional weight. Despite these issues, the film delivers enough chaos, humor, and kid-friendly fun to hold attention. The animation is bright and lively, the music is catchy, and moments of teamwork and adventure give it some charm. Overall, it’s an okay movie for children, but it lacks the cohesion, heart

Cómo todas sus películas es una gran crítica social, una reconstrucción total de nuestra sociedad machista y opresora donde estamos tan dependientes de los medios tecnológicos que nos perdemos como persona, muy buena si no fuera porque le faltaron escenas de sexo, que en mi opinión hubiesen enriquecido a la trama.
