A movie that thrives on inverting the angrezi of love isn't as novel as it should have been: it is too busy flaunting its humble grammar.
We only get to watch romances starring good looking youngsters but the film makes you realise that love isn't limited to any age. The other message it delivers is that love shouldn't die post marriage.
Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain has enough sense to confront the lovelessness that characterises far too many middle-class marriages, but not the courage to get to the heart of the problem.
The problem is not with acting or cinematography, it is the script that makes what could have been an exceptional tale of loss of love, a run-of-the-mill Bollywood masala flick.
