Movie Info

In love there is no one truth. And for everyone - your own way. What is more important - passion or duty? What to decide? And who has the right to judge? Eternal questions that ruthlessly puts life ... Anna Karenina made her choice. Her matured son Sergei for many years tried to understand why the mother had committed a tragic and terrible act. They did not leave the thought of Anna and Count Vronsky, who for 30 years could not reconcile with her death. In 1904, after one of the battles during the Russo-Japanese War, Sergei Karenin and Alexei Vronsky happened to be together in a distant village of Manchuria. Fate gave them a chance to return to distant events to find, finally, the long-awaited answer.

  • Anna Karenina: Istoriya Vronskogo is a classic and ancient story, although very current if we talk about infidelity, machismo and hypocrisy. [Full Review in Spanish]

  • The film is tediously long and slow as well. If costume dramas of yore are your thing then you might want to catch the film at a theatre near you. But, if you are looking for an engaging adaptation of the book, then skip this one.

  • None of the characters makes an impression; there's no on-screen chemistry even between the lovers. You can safely give this one a miss.
