TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch May 11 Road Trip (2026) is a goofy romantic comedy that mixes cheesy humor with awkward charm, creating a movie that is entertaining in moments but ultimately forgettable. The film leans heavily into exaggerated comedy and strange character dynamics, which sometimes works in its favor and other times makes the story feel uneven and disconnected. One of the stronger elements is Sophia Bush, who brings enough personality and charm to keep the movie watchable even when the screenplay starts leaning too far into silliness. She gives the film a grounded presence that helps balance some of the more ridiculous moments. The biggest issue is the chemistry between the characters. Wesley’s role never fully feels believable as a romantic match for Sophia Bush’s character, which weakens the emotional side of the story. The Wayne character is also extremely over-the-top, often becoming more distracting than funny.
