• Except for its weak denouement, this fantasy-world take on romantic rivalry is tightly plotted and frequently funny, with suave lead perfs and glossy production design and lensing.

I was a bit hesitant to watch this movie, but as I was invited to the press screening, I have no choice but to go. Not being pessimist, but I'm not a fan of Asian cinema, moreover a romantic genre. Although I still like Mandarin better, this Cantonese speaking movie is overall a pleasant surprise! Don't go breaking my heart starts out good, tells the story of a girl who got dumped by her boyfriend while following him to Hongkong. While celebrating her heart break she met a street drunk that changes her in one way or another. To complicated thing, the girl also has crush on her opposite work building guy (way too confusing). How the triangle works out at the end of this love tale? I'm not a fan of triangle love story, but this one works out itself smoothly. The actors all did good, nice background music too. Maybe Hollywood rom-com can learn a thing or two from Asian booming genre. 6.5/10.
