After a construction project begins in their neighborhood, best friends Tuck (Brian "Astro" Bradley), Alex (Teo Halm) and Munch (Reese C. Hartwig) begin receiving strange, encoded messages on their cell phones. They immediately inform their parents and the authorities, but when no one takes them seriously, the youths decide to crack the code themselves and trace the messages to their source. The youths' curiosity leads them to a robotic extraterrestrial who desperately needs their help.

Amiable but not terribly exciting. It has a distinct direct-to-video vibe, despite at least one eye-popping sequence of a truck being dismantled and reassembled.

Maybe I am biased, maybe im just a kid in the movie watching wrold, and maybe its just because this came out when I was 11. This was a grade A movie, I feel it on a personal level because I moved around alot and that impending "doom" of moving and trying to get in those last hours is real. Nothing and nobody can tell me this movie is bad for half reasons, like "it reminds me too much of E.T". This movie did it differently and I believe better than E.T (that may come with bias because its not from my time) This movie will hold a special place in heart for the time to come. Thank you Dave Green for capturing that childhood innocence.

This was a great little movie. To me it has no real connection to ET like some critics suggest. Sure it has kids helping an alien out to rebuild a ship to fly it back home, the difference is the ship has been hidden on the planet for quite some time and the little alien android was sent from wherever to retrieve it. Yet government officials shot the android down damaging it & it needs help to rebuild itself which is the pilot & the key to returning the ship to its place of origin. It’s about friends & that friendships don’t have to end even if you’re a few miles from each other or a few states or an even a few light years away.
