Elise Mar 7 Genuinely very interesting film. Had a hard time orienting myself for the first 20 minutes, but it locked me in. Kubrick is a very particular filmmaker and not to everyone's taste. This work is about a man with presumptions around marriage, sex, sexuality, and gender who's cut down at the knees by a revelation from his wife, causing a spiraling journey through one night across New York. I forget sometimes how masterful Kubrick is at creating sequences with such gravity and precision that you're totally sucked in and along for the ride.
