If you've held off this long, save yourself the boredom and the pain you have to endure watching this movie. The only people who like this movie are the most casual of fans who have little to no experience with the characters and source material. All the characters are too young. The FF should not be old, but they also shouldn't be this young. I'm sure the cast tried, but not even the best cast in the world could save this craptastic screenplay. Half this movie is exposition, and the characters don't even get their powers 'til halfway through! Doctor Doom is also boring, one dimensional, and feels unmotivated. He is a villain with hardly any motivation for his evil actions and just doesn't even feel scary, because by the time he's introduced, the movie is almost already over and the stakes are so low for that reason. The final battle is also boring and unimaginative. It also feels like there is no real story, plot, or character arcs. Avoid! The movie somehow takes a team of one of the most fun superhero groups in comics and makes everything feel dull and lifeless. The pacing is painfully slow for most of the film, then suddenly it rushes through the actual "superhero" part in the last few minutes. By the time the team finally suits up, the movie is basically over. The characters are also incredibly flat. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben barely feel like a team, and there’s almost no chemistry between them. Doctor Doom, who should be one of the most iconic villains in Marvel, ends up feeling underdeveloped and strangely handled. The tone is oddly serious and gloomy, which might have worked if the story was strong—but instead it just makes the movie feel heavy and boring. Even the action scenes are forgettable, which is the opposite of what you expect from a superhero film. See more lya tony ! The actors don't have any chemistry together. Dialogue seems bland. CGI is not awful, but uh, yep, nah. Just watch the airplane scene with johnny lol A whole bunch of nothing happens throughout the movie, the villain is introduced and killed in less than 20 minutes, THE FINAL 20 MINUTES. There is no ''action scenes'' beyond the final battle which is just a mid battle, gives you no excitement at all. The whole film has that famous FOX tone that... IS NOT fitting AT ALL for the fantastic four. Like my friend said, ''Eu vi o quarteto, mas cadê o fantástico?'' To be honest, I decided to watch it with really really low expectations. See more Aiden B @aidenb002 Jan 28 I don’t think this movie is a five star but I have to counter all the negative reviews. Im actually shocked how low the score is for this. Yeah, it’s not the best depiction of the fantastic four, but it’s still a competently made film with great visuals and performances. I love the darker tone, which makes it unique and sets it apart from the original F4. There could’ve been more action, however, it’s still entertaining and I appreciate the more character-driven story. Ultimately, it’s not the best interpretation of the source material, but it’s not a bad movie either and there’s still lots to enjoy about it. See more Read all reviews
