Transported to an alternate universe, four young outsiders gain superhuman powers as they alter their physical form in shocking ways. While you can appreciate the modern-day setting and the talent casting of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, and Michael B. Jordan, nothing about this film speaks Fantastic Four. The film is slow, and it basically is a science project gone wrong, government-takeover type of movie; that is literally what the narrative is, and for over an hour you see science about a machine being built, with nothing about a Superhero team. Another thing is that they have to wear bodysuits that have to control their powers instead of training and figuring out how to control their powers by themselves in their Fantastic 4 suits. Even Dr. Doom is heavily altered into some stone from the ground, with green in him, making him look more like a guy with kryptonite than anything actually representing Doom. Also, why are his powers different? Nothing about this film is actually Fantastic.
