Movie Info

In this sexy, French romantic drama, two couples decide to explore the boundaries of their relationships by swapping partners. What starts as a fun, free-spirited ménage-a-4 experimentation full of sleepovers, shared vacations, and dinner parties soon turns into a hotbed of desire, anger, and confusion. As their arrangement leads them down an increasingly surprising and provocative path, the lovers begin to question their personal choices and lifestyles, leading to consequences none of them could foresee. -- (C) Oscilloscope

You know there's something wrong with a sex movie when the good parts are the dialogue.

Too lazy and too scared to say anything pertinent about love, society and the human condition, "Four Lovers" is content to be a pleasant, mildly titillating divertissement with no meaning at all.

Cordier remains sensitive to the subtle shifts in the foursome's dynamics, but do we really need another handwringer about the perils of polyamory?

Audience Reviews for Four Lovers

Very sexually explicit film about two couples swapping mates for a period of a month or so. The odd man out is North African Roschzy Zem. What is he doing here? How can we pretend France is this "multicultural?" What about the reviewers here, afraid to point this out? While everybody else appears bare-assed naked, he always has to wear trunks (Muslim modesty)...even while he's supposedly screwing the white chick? C'mon.

Perhaps only French Cinema can pull out a changing partners taboo story in such an easy, casual & romantic way.
