When most people think of the American farmer, they envision a WHITE FACE. As the national conversation around food justice, race, land stewardship, and reparations has reached a high, the United States is finally beginning to recognize exactly how much influence Black people and people of color have had on the cultivation of our land. Based on the work of author, Natalie Baszile, HARVEST widens the lens and focuses on the next generation of people of color who are returning to the land. We show them moving through the world as whole human beings -- flawed but joyous; engaged in struggle, but resilient. HARVEST is changing the narrative around people of color and land ownership, celebrating their successes, and revealing how a new generation is helping to shape our future.
