Gabriel S @Sanarel Feb 8 By this point, even Jennifer Love Hewitt seemed done, so the writers shifted focus to new characters, introducing Amber Williams (Brooke Nevin). Here, the hook‑wielding fisherman exists as an urban legend. On the anniversary of the legend, a group of teens pull a stupid prank that gets someone killed. As in the original, they choose silence—and end up cursed. The twist this time is surprisingly interesting and gives the story a fresher angle, even hinting at possible future installments. The film is over the top, but the core idea mostly works. That said, it’s baloney through and through. The teens are painfully dumb, and most deaths could be avoided with basic common sense—but then there’d be no movie. I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer plays like a reboot, reshaping the franchise to justify more sequels. It’s weak on its own, but passable for horror junkies.
