  • [A] very funny Peter Pan-and-Wendy- get-preggers story.

  • Although this story about a mismatched couple expecting a baby strains credibility and sometimes pushes the limits of good taste, it delivers plenty of belly laughs.

  • Funny, rude and with a heart of gold that surprisingly doesn't grate.

  • If the essence of great comedy is truth then Knocked Up falls some way short.

  • Judd Apatow's follow-up to The 40-Year-Old Virgin is snort-all-over-the-person-in-front-of-you funny, hand-over-mouth filthy, and as exhilarating as inhaling from a 10-ton oxygen tank.

  • Very funny for an hour, Judd Apatow's script and direction are finally mugged by a gang worse than any of these. The feelgood moralists, who terrorise all parts of Tinseltown.

Knocked Up is well acted, directed and very funny. It is funny but also filled with heart and it does tackle a pretty touchy subject but it delivers well.

If I were to rank the 10 funniest movies of the last 10 years, this would definitely be in the top 5. "Knocked Up" is the story of Ben(Seth Rogan) who has a one night stand with Allison(Katherine Heigl) and gets her pregnant. She is an aspiring TV personality for E! and he is a man child who lives with friends and loves to smoke pot. Polar opposites, but they try to make it work. The supporting cast is amazing and full of great comedic actors. Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, Jay Beruchel, Jason Segal, among others. My favorites are probably Pete(Paul Rudd) and Debbie(Leslie Mann) as a married couple with 2 kids and a lot of problems. Hell, they have a sequel coming out about them. This movie is also full of great one liners, that are still hilarious. Just goes to show that R rated comedies can be raunchy, fun, and smart. This is a modern comedy classic that holds up nicely and remains mandatory viewing for all fans of comedy.

Knocked up has two things that most raunchy comedies do not have, all star performances and a hilarious and well written script. Unlike "The 40 Year Old Viring", one of Judd Apatow's other films, Knocked up brings a certain kind of maturity in its humour while still keeping the film hilarious. The characters are built up great and overall, out of all the comedies i've watched recently (Get Him to the Greek, Step Brothers, The 40 Year Old Virgin), Knocked up is the best by far. Favorite Scene: Chairs in the hotel or Paul Rudd's De Niro impression

Another hit by the Judd Apatow crew. It's not as funny as "Superbad" or "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", but it remains calm and creative. It's a refreshing outlook on parenthood and the perils of child birth with plenty of laughs along the way. It is crude at times, but makes up for that with some deeply emotional sequences, due to the bigger picture of the plot centering about responsibility and family values. Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl are great together on-screen, however believe they may be as a couple. Another nice feature was the string of cameos by Steve Carrell, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, James Franco, and even, Ryan Seacrest. Personally, I think the film is overrated, yet I don't deny its genuinely comical atmosphere and entertainment factor.
