Dec 08, 2016I recently streamed the dubbed version of this low-budget Italian horror quickie. Well, I fast-forwarded through some parts. I saw enough. Five dancing showgirls, their piano player, and their manager Lucas (Rizzo) seek shelter in an old castle even though they are repeatedly warned against it. What else?! The girls lounge around in frilly nighties and when they practice their routines one girl does a strip tease. Of course this is nothing surprising for a European horror flick of the early 60s to mix in a healthy dose of sex appeal. Vera (Rocco) is the main protagonist, who seems to go into a trance that often draws her into greater danger and into the arms of the mysterious owner of the castle Count Gabor Kernassy (Brandi). One showgirl gets knocked off early. Vera is the most curious to figure out whodoneit. Is it the dour housekeeper or groundskeeper? It couldn't be the Count who protectively warns the guests not to go wondering outside their rooms at night, then again he has a hokey lab for testing blood in the basement. And what of the vampire that is mentioned right in the title? Quite dull and not very original, but also not the worst attempt at a paranormal story on a cheap budget I've seen.Byron B Super Reviewer
Sep 05, 2010This is a silly, fun, although slightly disappointing vampire movie. The story is a lot like other vampire movies, just with a bunch of pretty girls. It's pretty good, but it could be better.Aj V Super Reviewer
Aug 14, 2008A must see for lovers of chessy (sexy?) 60's "horror". I may have to add this to my "So Bad It's Good" list.Robert C Super Reviewer
