Kyle M @RT77296778 07/13/2024 While we’re so focused over the haunting atrocity surrounding the Holocaust, there’s an unchecked angle that understandably wasn’t given much a thought due to associative perceptions by prejudice. The film compelled over the investigative aspect to potentially captivate, but it’s proven itself overtime how it became both an empathetic examination as well exposing the factual early attempts of burying such horror from making historical noise. Thoroughly complex in tackling both angles with thought-provoking insights provided by exceptional performances expressing the sharp deliverance, including appropriate resonance. This drama is valued for its thematic discourse and historical contribution as an unseen chapter that’s quite worthwhile. The real hero of this historical event is not the young prosecutor show in the film, but Fritz Bauer, his boss. See more Michael W @mawilps 01/25/2022 This foreign crime drama was really good. Alexander Fehling and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. This true story about a German prosecutor determined to bring all Nazi officers to justice for their heinous crimes against the Jews was dramatic, inspiring, and heroic. It's about doing whatever it takes to do what is right for others that need closure and that justice is upheld to convict the evil that was done. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see. See more 11/28/2020 Solid, straightforward story of a German public prosecutor spearheading a movement to go after his own countrymen for crimes committed at Auschwitz. It’s sufficiently successful at bringing you into the late 50s in Germany, before the country had acknowledged the Holocaust, and when every almost adult alive probably had something in their past they were ashamed of. It does a good job of asking what anyone would have done if they had grown up in Nazi Germany and of showing why the pursuit of war criminals is about more than punishment.
