[Janicza] Bravo and co-writer/spouse [Brett] Gelman have crafted something so intentionally and self-reflexively off-putting that I'm still banging my head against the wall trying to figure out if it's comic gold or just lives up to its title.

The movie suffers from a boring trajectory and mediocre acting but the script is formidable and regardless of their surroundings Greer and Gelman pull off an awkward and fascinating take on a disgruntled couple. Is it worth a watch? Certainly not. But it leaves you thinking as well as laughing

This is a weird, awkward comedy that's more of a series of skits than a film with an actual plot. Some are quite funny (the seder); all are awkward to the max. There's a large amount of long shots and long takes here, so there's also a real artistry to the film.

Genre as in Alexander Panye or Tamara Jenkins - this is a weird polemic on loneliness and the middle aged melt down. I believe It is genius and this director's first feature. Incredible.

This was a refreshingly different movie full of unsympathetic characters who were so sorry that you started to rooting for them and the ending was very close to reality of quiet desperation. I thought it was Wes Anderson meets Todd Solodnz . The pace was off-putting. I had to watch it in sections over a few days but after watching I thought about it quite a bit.
