Imagine an Attenborough documentary graffitied by Pixar.
While rudimentary, this insect-centric toon spares audiences the celeb wisecracks and overkill antics of other bug-based pics.
If Ant-Man's ever looking to recruit, there are plenty of heroic critters in this charming French live-action/CGI-animation hybrid.
If my attention wandered at times, I approved of the film's comic style: the best scenes are reminiscent of the Road Runner cartoons.
This is suitable for very young children but will charm all ages.
Invoking storytelling and cinematic traditions that are more than a century old, yet deploying the most sophisticated technology to create its hyper-realist textures, this wonderful French cartoon is entirely dialogue free.
It effortlessly finds more engaging interplay and laughs amongst its handful of tiny, wordless characters than the entire cast of most recent smart-mouthed US animation efforts.
Over the course of 90-odd minutes its charm wears very, very thin.
A dialogue-free bug saga carried along by brilliant sound effects, an epic score and delightful animation in the service of an incredibly basic yet endlessly inventive story.
An imaginative, funny and very cute French-Belgian animated movie that proves to be a lot of delightful fun for all ages - especially children, of course, who should love it -, with a good sound design, a great score and a sweet animation in a dialogue-free story.
I absolutely loved this. It has more charm and character throughout its touching story than most Hollywood insect based movies. Plenty of charm and visual gags keep you watching along with the great musical score.
