Movie Info

Teenager Annie Rooney (Shirley Temple) chafes at the lack of attention from her distracted boyfriend, Joey (Roland Dupree). One evening on the way to a party, Joey rear-ends the car of wealthy Marty White Jr. (Dickie Moore). Smitten, Annie accepts a ride from Marty to the party, where she delights him by teaching him to jitterbug. Annie begins dating Marty, but she is brought up short when his family refuses to invite her to his birthday party because of her working-class, eccentric father.

    Somewhat obnoxious comedy, Gargan in particular is hard to take, with Shirley moving into teenhood. She's been better elsewhere and the story is one big cliche after another. Guy Kibbee is good but he's about the only redeeming feature this has.
