Vada Sultenfuss (Anna Chlumsky) is a 13-year-old girl searching for identity and independence. For a class project, she must write about someone she hasn't met but still admires, so she chooses her late biological mother. In order to learn more, Vada journeys to Los Angeles on a school break, staying with her uncle Phil (Richard Masur). Nick (Austin O'Brien), Phil's girlfriend's son, reluctantly agrees to show Vada around the city. But, before long, he's wrapped up in her search for truth.

[My Girl] was really about something -- about an 11-year-old discovering some of the secrets of life, death, love and unselfishness. My Girl 2 seems inspired mostly by the opportunity to recycle the title of a successful film.

فلم ضعيف . القصة ضعيفة و مكرره و حواراتها و احداثها ضعيفة. اداء الممثلين كان مقبول بالنسبة للبطلة ادائها تحس ان مصطنع بعض الممثلين الثانوين ادائهم كان بي بعض الاوفر و ردات الفعل المبالغ بها. الاخراج ضعيف وغير متماسك سرد الاحداث بشكل غير متزن مره احداث سريعة تفتقر للتشويق مره احداث مملة و مماطلة فشل المخرج في ضبط ايقاع الفلم. التصوير كان مقبول رغم اختيار الزوايا كان سيء و الالوان غير متناسقة لكن الكامرة كانت تجاري الحوارات و الاحداث. الموسيقى مقبوله في مشاهد و مزعجة في مشاهد اخرى. بختصار الفلم ضعيف دراميا يفتقر لعنصر التشويق و اداء الممثلين كان مصطنع و فشل المخرج بجعل المشاهد يتعاطف مع الفلم واحداثة.

What does Vada learn about herself in this second installment, is the important question...? In the first movie, she learns how to let someone go, and to not be so freaked out by death. In this, she learns about her mother, goes back home, but she hasn't changed much as a person. Practically zero character development, which is poor when she's the main character to build the plot of your whole movie around.

Like Inside Out 2, their first movies were unbelievably powerful and unique, but like their sequels, they're both passable, and nothing more. The powerful moments and unique moments are kind of reduced. But however, unlike Inside Out 2, this movie isn't trying to copy the first movie, and try to have a different story, and gets some cute moments. Also worth noting, is Richard Beymer (from West Side Story, 1961) is in this movie for a few minutes, and might be the best character of the movie

My Girl 2 was a disappointed sequel that did not need to be made in the first place because it is just copying the original movie with different characters and the same characters from the first film but without Macaulay Culkin also a new story but this sequel to My Girl was a big disappointment.
