Straight forward, although doesn't really hit its dramatic stride until its concluding moments...
A devastating dramatisation of the hours leading up to the 1955 lynching of black Mississippi teenager Emmett Till.
Excellent narration and cinematography. [Full review in Spanish]
Beautifully photographed, with the weight of abiding horror in its dour sepia tones...
The writer/director achieves impressively high production values for his short and is clearly a man who knows how to surround himself with additional talent.
[Dorian] Davis' commanding performance anchors the film, and he and [Joshua] Wright bear an uncanny resemblance to their real-life counterparts.
The ending reveal is poignant, haunting and real. Films should be judged alone on the final product. My Nephew Emmett is a fantastic film.
This is a lyrical, powerful piece by Kevin Wilson, Jr.
There's a lot of promise here. Kevin Wilson Jr. is surely one to watch.
Wilson's film is beautifully shot, melancholy and foreboding, and more terrifying for what you know is coming rather than what you are seeing.
