Poto and Cabengo (1980)
Critic Consensus: No consensus yet.
This documentary by Jean-Pierre Gorin focuses on two identical twin girls who converse in their own language. The director narrates as he meets the girls, both about 10 years old. Their father was a former soldier who married a German woman. The mother speaks English with a German accent, and the grandmother only converses in German. Twins often have their own special bond that allows them to communicate on telepathic levels, but Gorin allows for the viewer to draw their own individual conclusions.
