Robert Dominguez New York Daily News Makes good use of historical footage to show how a B-list Hollywood actor made the unlikely ascension to commander-in-chief. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 5, 2004 Full Review Desson Thomson Washington Post This is the sort of film that will make its target audience, presumably religious, right-wing Christians, heartened and possibly misty-eyed. But it's likely to provoke hooting and hollering in less reverent circles. Oct 29, 2004 Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post In the Face of War repeats the same points over and over in a manner that's ironically very much like Soviet propaganda. Rated: 1/4 Oct 29, 2004 Full Review Luke Y. Thompson Los Angeles CityBeat The Gipper was always more entertaining and more persuasive than any of the other talking heads on display here May 28, 2005 Full Review Maitland McDonagh TV Guide Were the film's tone not so hysterical it might be provocative; as it is, insights and insults are inextricably intertwined. Audience Member Tremendous. Assuming you can separate from political division. The left will hate this. Anything positive towards Reagan must be opposed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member well done..great writing , history from Reagan's side..no matter what side left or right its a much watch..just like Al Gore's Doc Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A sort of propaganda to make believe the American right wing is the good while all their enemies are evil. The evil is amongst us, kind of rhetoric as well, in the form of Berkeley, past "soft" presidents. Lots of touching moments of history used to bolster the big english invader, which Reagan was the perfect mouthpiece. Absolutely no critical analysis of history provided here at all. This film is the kind of work that all evil empires had to serve their pawns to fuel the hatred needed for their militaristic views. English America may be the last evil empire standing. Let's wish it falls on it's own and that no more war will be needed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member The Hollywood Critics say 11%. The viewers say 75%. The divisions between the the people, and well every institution that feels it has a obligation to make sure that you don't ever fall out of their shadow of their power pulpit is addressed in this movie. Like him or hate him, you can't watch this movie without coming away with the idea that maybe, just maybe there truly are inalienable rights for each and every individual.
