See more Benjamin W @Code70 Oct 13, 2026 Yeah I mean, this was fine. Didn’t get as much out of it as I wanted, though. I’m not a Resident Evil fanatic or anything, I haven’t played any of the games and I barely know anything about the lore. So I couldn’t tell you faithful of an adaption this was. To me, it felt like a zombie movie first, with a little bit of The Matrix sprinkled into it. That’s a fun combination, and there’s some fun to be had here. Overall though, I wasn’t as entertained as I was expecting to be, and I didn’t find the plot or story very interesting. I also found the character to be kind of… meh. Paul W.S. Anderson is a guy who makes fun movies. He makes very schlocky B-movies, very much junk food type stuff. But I feel like he doesn’t do as good of a job with them as he could. It’s fine, and sometimes it’s good enough. But they’re never great. I think this is a solid example. Like I said, it’s fine, I would understand if you like as a sort of guilty pleasure.
