After the bone-deep scares of Barbarian and Weapons, it’s a bit of a letdown to see Cregger blow his creative capital on a gory goof. But video games aren’t meant to be a good use of your time, and he’s done enough work to earn a few hours on the couch.

Abrams shows he's able to carry a movie on his everyman shoulders. He makes viewers ask themselves what they would do if they were facing Bryan's growing dilemma. (Nine times out of ten, it's the opposite of what he does.)
