In this biopic, Rock Hudson (Thomas Ian Griffith) is a young man from Illinois whose good looks and determination help him break into 1950s Hollywood. At first his roles are in teen-oriented films that belie the quality of his acting, but he soon breaks out in A-list pictures opposite stars like James Dean. As his popularity grows, so does curiosity about his personal life and his marriage to a talent agent (Daphne Ashbrook). Later years see Hudson contract a serious and controversial illness.
