Rock of Ages is pretty much what you would expect from a rock musical. There is lowbrow humour, a thin plot and cheese, however, we love 80s rock ballads, so we love this. Tom Cruise as Jaxx steals the show. It rocks!

Paced like a three-wheeled Buick briskly trundling down a mountainside road, tonally offbeat, and excessively edited with significant debauchery. The characters have potential, but they suffer from cliched writing and a standardized plot. The glue that's barely holding it together is the music. All in all, it's good enough.
