In Cuarón's films, cinema conjures up its own world, and this one provides the chance to explore it with him more intimately than ever before. Go to Full Review

Aparicio, in her acting debut, is remarkable. Go to Full Review

Cuarón fills every corner of the frame, just as Fellini did, so that the eye has to roam the screen as though scouring a fresco. But for all the bustle and brio, it's a visually lucid movie. Go to Full Review

Despite having lived them in some fashion once before, Cuarón feels like he’s exploring these moments as earnestly as his audience — and in doing so unearths how uniting those moments of chaotic change can be. Go to Full Review

The cinematography, sound design, and editing is as elegant as you’d expect from Cuarón. Not enough good things can be said about Yalitza Aparicio and her performance too, a stunning performance for a non-professional. Go to Full Review

Joe E @jescanuelas 3d A beautiful movie, movies usually don't get to me emotionally, but the miscarriage scene got to me personally. See more Malka M @tealbri40 3d This film felt extremely personal and emotional without trying too hard. I appreciated how calm and quiet the movie was because it allowed the emotions to naturally stay with you. The visuals were honestly beautiful the entire time. See more sira D @RT50933966 3d Cinematography is one of the things that stands out to me. Personally hit home me since my mom is a house keeper herself. The acting is amazing and so is the storytelling. See more Hayle F @RT73632069 3d I personally loved this movie. The portrayal of the nanny and the kids lives and how they were impacted along with the beautiful way the camera was used in places such as the beach scene were really fascinating to watch See more Emeka R @RT69448386 4d Roma is a visually beautiful and emotional film that feels very realistic and personal. One of the movie’s biggest strengths is the way it explores themes like family, sacrifice, and social class through everyday moments rather than dramatic action. The story of Cleo shows how deeply she cares for the family she works for while also highlighting the class inequality in Mexico at the time. I also liked how the black-and-white cinematography made the film feel more emotional and artistic. Even though the pacing is slow, it helps the audience connect more deeply with the characters and their experiences. See more Juliet M. @RT04829866 4d The sound design in Roma is subtle but detailed. Everyday sounds such as traffic and conversations build realism without relying heavily on music. According to Looking at Movies, realism often comes from attention to visual and sound detail, which this film demonstrates beautifully. See more Read all reviews
