What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bountiful in action but threadbare in narrative thrust with its episodic structure, this Star Wars is more of a skirmish that coasts on the charm of its central dynamic duo.

This one-shot movie of a scrapped Disney TV series slides by on the indisputable sweetness of Baby Yoda and Pedro Pascal as his helmet-head daddy. The rest is faking it. Go to Full Review

As its return to the IMAX -- I mean, silver -- screen, the saga could do worse than this movie. With their main guy’s face behind metal, that’s a more than respectable showing. Go to Full Review

It didn't need to be this long, it didn't need to be this boring, it didn't need to be this ugly, it just didn't need to be. Go to Full Review

The Mandalorian and Grogu basically presents Mandalorian Season 4 as a stitched-together movie with theatrical production values. Despite that, Jon Favreau still crafts a fun, engaging, immersive, imaginative, and well-made adventure. Go to Full Review

Giovanni G 15m Loads of fun! If you are a fan of the show it wont disappoint. See more Lvr 15m I love Grogu and his love for Mando. See more Charles 16m As a standalone cinematic entry, The Mandalorian and Grogu functions perfectly as advertised. It is a focused, character-driven story that leans heavily into the established dynamic of its central pairing, delivering a satisfying narrative arc from start to finish. However, it is important to contextualize what this film is—and what it isn't—for the broader Star Wars fandom. Viewers hoping for a grand lore expansion that untangles the timeline between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens will likely leave disappointed. The script intentionally avoids taking on the burden of massive world-building or solving galactic political mysteries, choosing instead to keep the stakes personal and localized. What the film lacks in sweeping franchise implications, it makes up for in pure execution. The narrative pacing is exceptionally clean, moving smoothly from the opening sequence straight through to the credits. Backed by top-tier action set pieces and well-timed comedic relief, it succeeds by staying in its lane and masterfully delivering on its specific premise. See more Dominick 16m I loved it it was funny and AWESOME See more JB 17m Absolutely Fantastic!!!! Well done to the entire crew at Lucasfilm!! ❤️ it!! See more Zack 19m good movie. kinda felt like an extended episode but it had a good story. plenty of action. enjoyed the music too See more Read all reviews
