Forget the plot, this is a shameless showcase for its ageing, A-list lead.
Even more than its overwrought music-video numbers and needlessly complicated finale, Khan ups the movie's ridiculousness.
A twist near the end sends this contrived movie into a maudlin stratosphere from which it doesn't recover.
This spin on the 1992 Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston movie about a bodyguard who falls for his difficult charge is silly and derivative, but sneakily entertaining nonetheless.
Here the fight and stunt sequences are afforded as much care and attention as the song and dance scenes; it's all top-notch stuff.
Bodyguard, another one of Salman's Bollywood masala movie doesn't really catch you as a good one. It has a good story but the songs make it a torture sometimes.
I think this movie could have been a better movie with the action deducted from it. With Salman just a bodyguard not saving people like a super hero and a plain love story. I think it would have reached out to the audience more, with the same ending.
Salman Khan was never an outstanding actor and now even in his comedy roles he seems to be overacting a lot now. Even Kareena Kapoor, one of the tops who are great on the big screen were seen overacting.
The Action scenes were very unrealistic. Salman's character made him look like a superman.
In short, it's just a comic entertainer. A one time watching family movie.
