Romero’s compelling examination of human behavior in the zombie apocalypse is just as interesting as his previous 2 Dead films. Add some incredible effects from Tom Savini and you’ve got an underrated sequel that stands up well to its predecessors.

Kind of dreary, long and lame, and lacking the satirical inspiration of its two predecessors (intentional or not). 'Day of the Dead' outstays its welcome far before it's over, taking its added genre of action in no very interesting or inventive direction. The zombies are also pretty much run-of-the-mill: groaning, shuffling along, kicking rocks and dispiritedly picking apart brains. It's just not any fun anymore.

Elite level zombie makeup/effects and a fun score. Clearly a small scoped project but I think large portions of the human drama fall pretty flat.

Romero’s best work IMO. Not only does it have some of the best practical gore effects that set the bar incredibly high, but it also features some of Romero’s best writing and surprisingly deep character moments alongside a very dark and impactful social commentary.

My favorite film of all time! Romero gives a masterclass on brutality, a haunting commentary on the breakdown of society, and amazing practical gore that’s never been better. Great characters like John the Jamaican Pilot, Doctor Logan (aka Frankenstein), Billy, Rickles, Steele, and can’t forget Captain Rhodes! Bub will always be the greatest reanimated corpse to ever grace the screen! 11/10

I can't believe this one got such a low score. I found it very entertaining and scary as hell!! The special effects was the most realistic I've ever seen 👏. It had a good plot and great ending!!! I highly recommend!!!

Some of the worst acting you could possibly see in any films. Despite the zombie apocalypse, the terrible eighties haircuts remain neat and trimmed. A lot of gore for the sake of gore. Not a lot of story or creativity. The stars are for the barbers work.
