On Sept. 10, 1946, Mother Teresa (Juliet Stevenson) receives a message from God that tells her to help the poor, the sick and the downtrodden. Her new purpose initially causes conflict with the Roman Catholic Church and the government of India. After her death, a Vatican priest begins to recount her life's work, her political oppression and her unbreakable spirit. As her story unfolds through 40 years of personal letters, history remembers her as one of the world's greatest humanitarians.

[Juliet] Stevenson plays Mother Teresa from age 35 to 70 with a believability and resonance that radiates from within. The depth of conviction and humility which she imbues in the character took my breath away... Powerful fragility at its finest.

This movie was a bit of a let down. I truly believe that Mother Teresa deserves to have movies made about her, but this one seems slow and sluggish. However, I think that the worst thing about it is that it wasn't as informative as I was hoping for. It has a few good moments, but ultimately I was not impressed with it.

Mother Theresa is a Saint and this film is about her devotion to Christ and her calling to Love the poor and destitute in society....it's an inspiration and a joy to watch because it's not just another Hollywood movie. 4 stars

Mother Teresa is a saint, you know? I like her so much that this movie is my favorite, because it's so loving,= and dramatical. And someone dislikes this movie will go to HELL!!!! (I'm a Catholic, dislikers are athiests)
